THE PAW CENTRE PET GROOMING AGREEMENT

This agreement is entered into between The Paw Centre (hereafter referred to as "Groomer") and the pet owner (hereafter referred to as "Client"), regarding the grooming of the Client’s pet (hereafter referred to as "Pet"). This agreement applies specifically to all pets, including senior pets, pets with pre-existing medical conditions, and pets recovering from surgical procedures.

1. Senior Pet Health / Medical Conditions

The Client acknowledges that their Pet is considered senior (8 years or older) or has pre-existing medical conditions, and that grooming can cause stress, which may exacerbate existing medical problems, reveal hidden conditions, or in rare cases, result in a serious medical event, injury, or death. Client understands that senior pets or pets with medical conditions are groomed for comfort and hygiene, not appearance.

The Groomer will take every precaution to minimize stress and discomfort during the grooming process. However, the Client understands and agrees that The Paw Centre will not be held liable for any adverse reactions or health complications that may arise during or after the grooming session.

Client further agrees that all veterinary care expenses resulting from medical complications during or after grooming, including emergencies, will be solely the responsibility of the Client, unless decided otherwise at the Groomer’s discretion.

2. Post-Surgery Grooming

Pets recovering from surgery must receive full veterinary clearance before grooming. Client agrees that Pets will not be groomed until all sutures, staples, or drains have been removed and the wound is fully healed. Written confirmation from a licensed veterinarian stating that the Pet is fit for grooming must be provided.

The Paw Centre reserves the right to refuse grooming services if the Pet appears to be unfit for grooming due to recent surgery or ongoing health issues.

3. Accidents and Emergencies

While The Paw Centre takes every precaution to ensure the safety of all pets, there is always an inherent risk when handling animals. In the event of an accident or emergency, the Groomer will attempt to contact the Client immediately.

If the Client cannot be reached and the Groomer deems the situation life-threatening or in need of immediate veterinary care, the Pet will be transported to the nearest veterinary clinic for emergency treatment. All veterinary costs will be the responsibility of the Client.

The Paw Centre will not be held liable for any injuries, illnesses, or fatalities resulting from accidents or complications arising during the grooming process.

4. Fleas and Parasites

If the Groomer discovers fleas, ticks, or other parasites during the grooming session, a flea/parasite treatment bath will be administered at the Client’s expense. The Client agrees to pay an additional $10–$15 for this treatment.

If a Pet has a severe infestation that may pose a risk to other animals, The Paw Centre reserves the right to refuse grooming services until the issue is resolved.

5. Dangerous or Aggressive Pets – Refusal of Services

The Groomer reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or discontinue grooming if the Pet exhibits aggressive, dange\ous, or highly stressed behavior that makes it unsafe to continue.

If the Groomer must halt grooming due to the Pet’s behavior, the Client agrees to pay for services rendered up to that point. The Paw Centre will not be held liable for any injuries the Pet sustains due to its behavior.

6. Matted Coats

Matted coats require extra time and care. In some cases, shaving may be the only option. Grooming decisions will be made with the Pet’s comfort and safety as the top priority.

The Client accepts all associated risks, including potential nicks, cuts, skin irritation, or uneven coat regrowth. A de-matting fee of $20 per 15 minutes will apply. The Groomer will notify the Client before proceeding with extensive de-matting if additional charges are likely to apply.

7. Interruptions During Grooming

For safety and quality reasons, the Client must not disturb the Pet during grooming. If the Client arrives early for pickup or interacts with the Pet mid-session, causing distraction, the Groomer reserves the right to end the session early, and the full grooming fee will apply.

8. Cancellations and No-Show Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 24 business hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.

Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) will be charged 50% of the scheduled service cost.

No-shows will be charged 100% of the service cost. These fees are non-negotiable.

9. Payment Terms

Payment is due at pick-up.

Prices are listed on our website and are non-negotiable.

The Client agrees to pay the listed price for services at the time of their appointment.

Late payments may incur additional fees at the Groomer’s discretion.

10. Client Satisfaction

Client satisfaction is our priority. If the Client is unsatisfied with any aspect of the Pet’s grooming, The Paw Centre must be informed at pick-up. Once the Pet leaves, further corrections or adjustments will require a new appointment and will be charged accordingly.

11. Photographs

This agreement authorizes The Paw Centre to take photographs of the Pet for client records, marketing, promotional, or advertising purposes. All photos are the property of The Paw Centre.

12. Acknowledgement and Agreement

The Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Pet Grooming Agreement. This agreement is binding for all grooming sessions.
